Smočnica - Artisanal Natural Food Products from Lika

Smočnica is a small artisanal food production business located in the village of Mušaluk in the heart of Lika, precisely between Gospić and Perušić, Croatia. This family business emerged from a decades-long beekeeping tradition, where homemade honey serves as the main ingredient for handcrafted products without additives and stabilizers.

Smočnica Product Range

The offering includes creamy honey with various additions, different types of granola, and energy bars known as "Pločke". All granolas are available in flavors including nuts, nuts-coconut, chocolate-peanut, apple-cinnamon, and coconut-strawberry, priced at €5.60 each. For larger quantities, 500g granola packages with homemade honey are available for €20.

Handmade Production and Quality Control

Every product is made entirely by hand - from chopping and weighing ingredients to mixing and packaging. Production occurs in small batches to ensure the best quality control. Ingredients are visible to the naked eye, and products contain no additives, stabilizers, or shelf-life extending substances.

Local Ingredients and Own Honey

Smočnica strives to source ingredients from local producers whenever possible. The most important ingredient - honey - comes from their own farm. The energy bars use exclusively premium acacia honey, while granolas contain floral or meadow honey from the Velebit area. Honey quality is confirmed by numerous awards and medals won at evaluations and a ten-year beekeeping tradition in Lika.
